Editorial

I have the pleasure of writing the fourth Editorial of 2009, which means that our journal improved its periodicity from annual to trimestral. Also this is the first Editorial in English and expresses our desire to publish other editions in this language to our Journal starts to be worldwide recognized.

This fourth number of 2009 is composed of six articles, being five research articles and one case report.

Since the use of dental implants in oral rehabilitation has gained importance in clinical practice two articles evaluate this topic concerning about the microbial recolonization of the implant abutment and a longitudinal evaluation of the lateral sinus lift technique and simultaneous implant placement.

Dental caries are discussed by two research articles one about the anticariogenic effectivity of propolis and other evaluating the correlation of visual diagnosis of dental caries to a laboratorial microhardness test. Also the degree of conversion achieved by different polymerization devices of a conventional composite resin is discussed.

The case report describes the success obtained by the use of at-home technique to achieve dental bleaching, which is a treatment with the advantage of low cost and side effects prevalence.

Thus, hope that we can continue to accomplish our mission of publishing original scientific studies, with methodological validity and results that can be of interest and modify our practice in health area and would like to thank the support received from our staff, subscribers and reviewers and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a 2010 full of health and happiness.
