Drea de Matteo recalls moment she told her two kids she did OnlyFans

por Onita Shillito (13/04/2024)

Sopranos star Drea de Matteo saved herself from financial ruin after joining OnlyFans last year.

Now the actress, 52, has revealed the awkward moment that she had to tell her two children that she'd filmed a 'racy' collaboration with sex symbol Carmen Electra for the subscription-based site.

Appearing on Club Random's The Sage Steele Show, Drea said, 'I had to sit them down the other day and be like, "Look, I did a collaboration with Carmen Electra and these pictures are racy - I'm not gonna lie."

'They are a hundred per cent holy s**t, I've never seen myself in a public photo like that,' she continued.

'I always go over everything with them if there's something crazy. And I've even had to make sure that there was a company in place to take [the pictures] down if they got leaked.'

'I always go over everything with them if there's something crazy.' she insisted

Drea says that her family is so supportive of her move into OnlyFans that daughter Alabama, 16, has even helped her with her photoshoots for the site.

While she insists that Alabama 'doesn't care' about her OnlyFans career, the Sons of Anarchy star admitted that son Waylon, 12, can be less enthusiastic at times.

'Sometimes I'll put him in his place, like, "Do you like that jacket you just asked me to buy you? You like all the things that you want that make you happy? You like that new PC that you begged for for Christmas - because you wouldn't have that s**t if Mommy didn't show her a**!'" Drea laughed.

She added, 'Me and my kids are so open about everything.'

Drea said that she loves spoiling her children with her OnlyFans earnings, and was even able to buy Waylon a pricey Moncler jacket thanks to her success on the site.

The New York native had just $1,000 left in her bank account when she joined OnlyFans last year and was at risk of losing her family home.

Despite her incredible career, Drea was unable to work during the Covid pandemic after refusing to comply with Hollywood's strict vaccine mandates and soon found herself on the verge of bankruptcy.

Drea has also collaborated with Real Housewives of New York star Leah McSweeney on content

She says joining OnlyFans was 'the last trick up my sleeve to feed' her children and 'take care of everything'.

'I got a lot of heat for it,' she confessed.

'People say a lot of mean things, like "desperate". Damn right I was desperate - I was f***ing desperate and I hope you're never desperate'.

Drea spoke about her OnlyFans account with Dailymail.com in February, saying, 'It saved my life, 100 per cent. I can't believe I'm saying that, but it really did save us.'

Tearing up, she continued: 'Anybody that wants to condemn me and put me down, go for it. I just hope you never find yourself in the position I was in to take care of two little kids.

'It saved my home of many years that was very important to us. And beyond all that, it has given me enough money to start up and finance ULTRAFREE.'

Drea explained that the concept behind the politically incorrect clothing brand is about making 'freedom cool again.'

'Freedom from anything that makes you feel caged in, whether that is a mental illness or physical illness or an ideology,' she said.

'God knows ideologies were pushed forward in the last three years have not helped society.

'The merch is all about like, don't let them tell you who you are, you already know who you are no matter what.

'Don't let anybody keep you small, you don't need a movement, you just need to be free.'
