Knowing the different Sources of Massage

por Elmo Gall (22/01/2023)

The word comes from Latin massa meaning mass, touch, or rub. The term is used to describe a variety of massage and body treatments. However, the history of massage tells us that the earliest roots of massage can be traced in Ancient Greece. Many branches of massage are practiced in China, Japan Tibet India, India, 帶»çÁö and Italy currently. A lot of people in western countries haven't attempted the technique and prefer to stick with their normal diets, exercises, and medications.

The most known information about the source for massage is that it was an ancient treatment method that was well-known in the classical period of Egypt, Greece and Italy. The popularity of massage waned in the Middle Ages, when doctors started to employ the latest medical technologies that were made along the same lines that massage therapy follows. The wheel was one of these medical innovations. It was designed to provide massage for the whole body with constant pressure to a large area with high speed. The massage was carried out in short, fast movements that would be repeated as necessary. The technique is extremely hazardous and painful, and was eventually eliminated in favor of more gentler methods.

Apelles of Mycenae, one of the Egyptian Sage who lived in the 12th Century, was taught the old-fashioned treatment. The technique of plaster Castor oil was developed by Apelles and was used to provide massage of the skin. He later developed the technique of putting collagen on plaster which was the source of much of the knowledge about massage that was created up until the twelveth century. Archimedes was another important figure who introduced massage to Greece. He received training in the fields of astrology and medicine, and was extremely skilled in treatments for diseases by using simple tools. These tools included oils and lotions that could be applied to parts of the body for relief from pain and swelling.

At the 2200 BC time frame, Greece was a significant centre for massage therapy in Asia Minor. The development of massage therapy was due to Hippocrates. Hippocrates was the pioneer of medicine. He gained fame for his Hippocratic doctrine, which taught that the body is capable of healing it self. He also believed the cause of illness was an imbalance in "life-force" inside the body. He devised massage therapy to relieve these signs and promote healing.

There are many types of massage that could be employed today. They include Swedish massage, shiatsu reflexology, acupressure. Each has a purpose and every one has its own unique.

Swedish massage is a type of massage which involves the gentle stroking of the masseuse's hands on the subject. Slow strokes are used as the palms and fingertips of hands rub against the skin frequently. Massage can relax, soothe and helps relieve tension off the body, as well as knots in the connective tissue and muscles.

Shiatsu massage is another type of massage invented by Asia. It is focused on the pressure points. It uses movement, manipulations and pressure to stimulate various pressure points. Shiatsu massage is different from Swedish massage. It involves more than just the fingers and palms. Shiatsu also touches the knees, elbows, and the feet. Shiatsu massage is practiced in Asia for many years, including Japan, China and Korea.

Ayurvedic Massage is one of the most well-known forms of massage. Ayurvedic massage originates from India, and its roots are rooted in the past. Ayurvedic massage, which is an ancient type of treatment, was inspirated by the ancient Hindu principles. Ayurvedic massage techniques are used at many holistic and health centers all over the globe due to this.
