Abstract

The music is the science of combining the sounds of orderly and pleasant form to the ear, this science that accompanies the human being from the origins of the civilization, it is one of the most beautiful forms of expressing the feelings. The choral- singing is an effi cient way of education of masses, one of the most crystallizations of the music, because, with its enormous power of cohesion, it integrates the individual to the social inheritance of the homeland. The choral-singing takes the socialization of the pupil as a mark. To insert the choral-singing in the school curriculum is very important for the formation of the pupils and their cognitive, social and cultural development. To join them around the same ideal, in which “I” it starts to be “we” and the singular which starts to be the collective, is the objective. In this project there were administered to the pupils basic notions of music, so that they could understand with clarity the most varied items that compose a musical piece and its principal elements: melody, harmony, rhythm and canon, and the differences between them. The pupils had a bigger experience with the canon, where they could observe and learn the differences of amusing way, in which the logic, the meter and the discipline were made presents. For each stage of teaching of the school curriculum, a musical diversifi ed methodology was made necessary, attending to several age groups, so that they better used the content administered during the school period. This work was developed by pupils of 5th and 6th series of the E.E.Dr. Henry Smith Bayma, located in the district of Itaim Paulista, in Sao Paulo city. The fi nality of the music in the basic teaching is to develop in the pupil the aptitude to catch the musical language and to be expressed through it. The concept of music varies from culture to culture, but it is a universal language and, the pupil is stimulated by the continuity of the studies, we will have a school, in which the joy will be sovereign.
