Contemporary medical education requires, beyond technical competencies, the development of ethical and humanistic sensitivity that prepares future professionals to face dilemmas related to autonomy, dignity, and end-of-life issues. In this context, the teaching of bioethics and the use of active methodologies become essential, especially when articulated with didactic resources that foster students’ critical reflection and affective engagement. Cinemeducation stands out as a pedagogical tool capable of representing moral conflicts in an experiential way, bringing students closer to the human experiences that permeate health care. The aim of this study was to report a pedagogical experience that used the film Me Before You (2016) as a trigger for ethical discussions with medical students. The activity was carried out with third-semester students, in the module “Bioethics at the End of Life,” and was structured in four stages: dialogued presentation on bioethical principles, full screening of the film, guided small-group discussions, and a collective synthesis of perceptions. This is a teaching experience report, with no collection of personal data, in accordance with Brazilian Resolution No. 510/2016. The results showed that students recognized the conflict between autonomy and preservation of life, reflected on palliative care and on the difference between prolonging life and prolonging dying, and identified the influence of cultural, family, and religious values on end-of-life decisions. It is concluded that cinema is an effective pedagogical strategy for teaching bioethics, promoting empathy, critical thinking, and a humanized understanding of the ethical dilemmas present in medical practice.
