Abstract

ABSTRACT: This article presents how it is conceived the concept of creativity in order to configure a pedagogy applied to art, developing a brief analysis of the origin of the term creativity and its key concepts, verifying the relationship between creativity and art teaching. Among the concepts presented, there is a particular relevance on the origin of the term “creativity” associated with the creative imagination and the ability to fantasize the reality, as sources of the creative process. The study is complemented by different definitions about creativity, such as conceptions concerning the processes related to divergent thinking, inferring that there is a bipolarity: first between imagination and thought, then between divergent and convergent thinking, affirming the dichotomous relationship that pervades concepts. Keywords: Creativity. Art. Education. Imagination.
