ETHNIC-RACIAL EDUCATION: Sociological and philosophical reflections

Abstract

The present paper discusses the importance of an ethnic-racial education for a racial democracy, from the understanding of multiculturalism and interculturalism, through a sociological and philosophical scope. Thus, it has reference to Law 10639/2003, which provides the inclusion in school curriculum of studies of Ethnic-Racial relations and the Teaching of Afro-Brazilian and African History and Culture.
