Abstract

The greatest difficulty faced during orthodontic treatments with extractions of premolars is to control the anchorage, mainly during retraction movement of anterior teeth. In this way, anchorage control is fundamental to successful orthodontic treatment. The orthodontic mini-implants provide an adequate skeletal anchorage for retraction of a tooth or a block of anterior teeth and one the most important aspects is the fact that it is almost no longer needed the cooperation of the patient. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the sequence of a surgical protocol for installing mini-implants which are going to be used for anchorage on the mass retraction movement of the anterior teeth.
