Nursing classifications: tensions and contributions.

Abstract

Facing tensions generated by the nursing classifications development and use produces contributions that are important to articulate theoretical and clinical nursing. In this article relevant sources of these tensions in the movement of the classifications of nursing are argued and some contributions generated from research on nursing diagnoses according to the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association classification are presented.
